Infrastructure that holds.
We build and protect public assets for railway, water resources, roads and buildings departments — across Assam, the North East, and five states beyond.
What we do
Four kinds of work
Every contract we hold is with a government department or a public sector organisation. That is the only work we do.
Railway works
Station upgradation, platforms, cess repairing, boundary walls, drainage, bridge protection and river training.
River & bank protection
Anti-erosion measures, embankment protection, dyke retirement, breach closing and river training works.
Roads
Road construction, improvement and repair, with the drainage and protection works that keep them standing.
Buildings & water supply
Public buildings, schools and hospital works — ICUs, RT-PCR labs, oxygen plants — and piped water supply schemes.
We also hold government supply and installation contracts through GeM.
Scale
Built over fourteen years
Growth in scale, geography and complexity — from water resources works in Assam to railway contracts across five more states.
Where the work is
Head office in Guwahati, with project teams stationed at site for the duration of a contract.

How we work
How we deliver
The same discipline on every contract, whichever department awards it.
Qualify and bid
Eligibility, costing, securities and documentation prepared in-house by a dedicated tendering team.
Mobilise
Teams, machinery and material moved to site — including remote river and railway locations.
Execute
Site engineers and supervisors stationed on the ground, working to drawing and specification. On railway work, inside the night block window.
Measure and hand over
Quantities measured, evidence recorded with GPS-stamped photographs, bills certified, asset handed over.
The company
Fourteen years of public work
Bhagya Traders was founded in Guwahati in 2012 by Deben Kalita. We work only on government contracts, and we have built the business by delivering in conditions most contractors avoid — eroding riverbanks, monsoon-damaged formations, and live railway assets where the work front is available for six hours a night.
Today a team of engineers, supervisors and office staff runs projects across six states from a head office in Guwahati. We are still small enough that the person who signs the contract knows what is happening at every site.
Founded in GuwahatiCivil works for state departments, beginning with water resources.
Anti-erosion specialisationMajor bank protection and dyke works on the Brahmaputra and Gangadhar.
Public health and buildingsICUs, RT-PCR laboratories, oxygen plants and schools for state departments.
Railways and multi-state workContracts with five railway divisions, the Brahmaputra Board and Mumbai Port Authority.
₹31.51 Cr turnoverThirty-four projects, six states, and a portfolio worth ₹186.67 crore.
